Cost-of-living, climate change, and communication covered at Vulnerability Summit

The summit will cover a broad spectrum of vulnerability across the UK, showcasing the rising numbers of people in vulnerable circumstances around mental health, social media, climate change and diversity.

2022 is expected to be a difficult year for consumers, with the invasion of Ukraine alongside the difficult post-pandemic environment leaving many struggling with their finances and mental health.

This, coupled with an ever-increasing awareness of the climate crisis and the need for firms to improve the diversity of their workforce, means it’s more important than ever for businesses to meet, discuss and come up with solutions to these challenges.

As part of this, there’s a necessity for cross-sector collaboration. As such, the Shard Financial Media-powered Vulnerability Summit will be supported by TRI Strategy and sister brands Credit Strategy, FSE Media and Reward Strategy - allowing those in attendance to share and receive ideas from all four corners of the Shard Financial Media community.

Those speaking, sponsoring and attending the Vulnerability Summit - taking place on 5 October - will be seeking active improvements in support for vulnerable people. Whether this is their customers, employees or supply chains.

The keynote sessions will explore vulnerability over the decades, and how to address the cost-of-living crisis. The summit will also look at how to identify vulnerability, and ask whether social media is a threat to those struggling and what can be done to protect people vulnerable to gambling.

The event will also be asking "where do we want to be one year?" for each session, which will be reviewed at the following year’s event in 2023.

In addition to this, the summit will play host to three breakout sessions, which will focus on areas such as how to improve transparency in the workplace and ways of utilising innovation to improve vulnerable customer experiences.
